History:
Compass
Children's Center has been providing quality childcare for
families in Vista and surrounding areas since the
mid 1970's. For many years we were known as Kiddie Kollege of Vista. In
2008 our name was changed to Compass Children's Center but our commitment to quality and excellence remains the same. Over the
years hundreds of students have benefited from our quality program.
Our
Director, Sharon Mahoney, has over 30 years experience in early
childhood education. She has served in the capacity of Director for centers
in New York and California.
Philosophy:
Compass
Children's Center has a developmental perspective and cirriculum. We believe your child will learn best when activities are
open-ended,
process oriented and freely chosen by the child. Learning is
intergrated into activites that your child enjoys. The center is set up
with activity centers featuring several different areas of
children's development.
Our staff
understands a child's need for personal attention, comforting, space
for movement, interaction, privacy and rest. Staff members are
sensitive
to the emontional, social, congnitive and creative development of your
child.
A dependable daily routine is important. Meals, circle time, project times and nap times occur at the same time each day.
